Role Details As a sustainability manager, you will report into the Director of Strategy and Sustainability, where you will be instrumental in converting our strategic vision into tangible action - by leading, managing, shaping, coordinating and delivering our sustainability goals. The role will involve the full spectrum of the Environmental, Social and Governance landscape and act as a central liaison to advance Altrad's ambition in a cohesive manner.
The role will be based in the UK and primarily supporting the execution of activities within the UK, and will also involve liaison with other countries within the UK, Ireland and Nordics region and with our parent company.
Key Responsibilites Manage the overall development, coordination and implementation of our sustainability strategy in alignment with our business strategy:
- Research and analyse the external environment including regulations, industry best practice and market trends to continually inform and align our sustainability priorities.
- Develop a programme and framework to effectively track, measure and report on our sustainability progress and performance.
- Develop a robust data set which can be used to support effective reporting.
- Manage sustainability certifications.
- Understand our client and contract needs in relation to sustainability and devise plans accordingly.
- Manage and support the implementation of sustainability related initiatives.
- Manage and support the development of marketing material and media to effectively communicate Altrad's sustainability progress and journey.
- Develop effective networks internally and externally to ensure our sustainability ambitions are plans are delivered effectively.
Key Requirements - Knowledge of regulations, policies and practices in the sustainability field with curiosity for continuous learning.
- Experience of managing complex programmes and data sets.
- Ability to analyse and interpret qualitative and quantitative data into actionable initiatives.
- Articulate written and verbal communication skills and storytelling.
- Assertive and proactive at engaging and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience of working within a sustainability function or related role.
- Experience of working in engineering and industrial sectors is preferred, but it isn't mandatory.
- A qualification related to sustainability is preferred, but it isn't mandatory.
