We are searching for a fixed term contract (12 months) Sustainability Operations Manager to join our team to help us to continue to drive reductions in our environmental impact across all areas of the business.
Reporting into the COO, you will be the voice and guardian of sustainability in our business, keeping up to speed on latest news and industry trends and owning and developing our sustainability relationships (B Corp, ClimatePartner, FuturePlus and others). You will be responsible for ensuring our global sustainability operations run smoothly in terms of our recycling and returns schemes and be accountable for all reporting linked to our sustainability. Role & Responsibilities: - Lead and execute on our 2025 sustainability strategy
- Support the recertification of our B Corp status in 2025
- Maintain strong relationships with key sustainability partners including Climate Partner and FuturePlus.
- Have oversight over our global operations on return, recycle and re-use of our products for each of the markets we operate in. You will ensure readiness from a sustainability perspective as we enter new markets and channels.
- Understand the landscape and implications of material, product and packaging developments for SURI as we scale globally
- Oversee any claims related to sustainability and act as approver for all other teams
- Work with Operations and Product teams to develop a robust and right size process to audit of our global supply chains
- Work with our Product teams and suppliers to collect environmental and social data for our reporting and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of our products
Requirements- Passionate about sustainability and working for purpose led businesses
- A minimum of 3+ years experience working in a similar role
- Very familiar with global environmental frameworks and industry standards
- Experience driving culture change in an organisation and upskilling teams
- Data-driven with strong analytic skills and able to drive measurable improvements
- Commercially astute with an awareness financial trade offs on sustainability
- Experience of working in a business with complex global supply chains
- Strong problem solving skills, solution-oriented with a strong bias for action
- Comfortable with balancing a role with some admin coupled with strategic projects
- Autonomous, strong influencing skills and great team player
