We are experiencing a growing demand for landscape-focused projects and are looking to expand our team with a skilled and experienced Landscape Architect. This role is tailored for a professional with demonstrable experience in landscape architecture who shares our passion for integrating ecology into design.
About You
We are looking for a creative and experienced Landscape Architect with:
- A dual interest in landscape and ecology, able to balance design creativity with environmental considerations.
- A proven track record in landscape design and Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- A keen interest in biodiversity and a commitment to delivering net gains through thoughtful design.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will report to the Principal Landscape Architect and work closely with our ecology and arboriculture teams to deliver integrated solutions for our clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering concept and detailed landscape designs.
- Preparing planting specifications and producing construction details for soft landscape elements.
- Creating high-quality drawings and landscape management plans.
- Undertaking Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA).
- Conducting site inspections, surveys, and assessments.
- Collaborating with ecology and arboriculture teams to integrate multidisciplinary aspects of design.
- Applying Biodiversity Net Gain principles to all landscape designs.
- Contributing to the growth of the landscape department by supporting projects and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
Minimum Requirements
- A degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline with a strong ecological focus.
- Demonstrable professional experience in landscape architecture, including concept design, LVIA, and planting schemes.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, KeySCAPE, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft applications.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload and support others.
- Excellent plant design and identification skills.
Location
This role is based at Brooks Ecological Ltd, Unit A, 1 Station Road, Guiseley, Leeds, LS20 8BX. While access to a car is desirable, we encourage cycling to work and are well-connected to local train and public transport services. The ability to collaborate effectively in person and remotely using Teams is essential.
