Neo Environmental, an award-winning planning and environmental consultancy, have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Acoustic Consultant to join our expanding team working on projects in the UK and Ireland.
The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience in the Renewables sector. The position will offer the right individual the opportunity to work for a well-established and growing multi-disciplinary planning and environmental consultancy.
The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects, with the main focus on renewable energy developments. Prospective candidates will be expected to have excellent report writing skills and be well organised with meticulous attention to detail. We are seeking an enthusiastic person who is keen to learn and assist with a range of projects, with the ability to project manage.
This role offers hybrid working and can be based from our offices in Warrington, Glasgow or Ballymena.
Duties
- Preparation of technical reports including Noise Assessment and EIA Chapters
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior consultants
- Data analysis and predictions of noise impacts
- Overseeing and technically reviewing noise models using various software such as CAD and SoundPLAN
- Working knowledge of GIS
- Providing advice on noise considerations and lead the acoustic inputs for projects
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Attending team and client meetings
- Tender and Fee Proposal production
Essential Criteria
- Relevant Acoustics degree or similar
- The successful candidate will be required to produce reports for clients and so attention to detail, reliability, and good organisational skills are essential.
- Experienced in GIS and other relevant software packages
- Full driving license
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Member of the Institute of Acoustics (IoA)
- Experience in environmental noise and vibration assessment of renewable energy
Desirable Criteria
- Understanding and experience in vibration assessments
- Relevant Master's degree
- Experience in renewable energy projects
- Strong scientific and engineering knowledge in relation to traffic and transport
- Tendering/bid preparation experience
- Production of EIA Chapters
