The role includes dedicated mentorship and training with an external Landscape Architecture Practice, ensuring professional development in industry-standard software, commercial regulations, and best practices. The role will include working alongside our external team on commercial landscape proposals to expand Tobermore's in-house expertise.

About the roleResponsibilities:The following list constitutes the key tasks and duties of your post upon which your job performance will be assessed. Duties will include:
Design & visualisation:- Create high-quality 3D visualisations and concept layouts for residential and commercial projects.
- Develop domestic and commercial landscape designs, ensuring practicality, aesthetics, and alignment with Tobermore's product offering.
- Produce technical drawings and material specifications.
Collaboration & training:- Work closely with Tobermore's marketing, sales, and technical teams to support design-led customer engagements.
- Spend time training with an external Landscape Architecture Practice to develop expertise in industry-standard software, commercial regulations, and best practices (a structured training plan will be implemented).
- Gain knowledge of hard landscaping standards, accessibility requirements, and sustainability principles.
- Refine and adapt commercial hard landscape proposals, working collaboratively to ensure designs align with customer needs and project specifications.
Customer engagement & site visits:- Participate in joint call days with the B2B sales team to understand customer requirements, present design concepts, and gather feedback.
- Attend site visits to gain first-hand experience of real-world project challenges and solutions.
- Engage with commercial customers (housebuilders, contractors, local authorities, etc.) to provide technical design support and enhance service delivery.
- Represent Tobermore at merchant trade days, CPD presentations, and key industry events when required, supporting customers, and strengthening industry relationships
Process & project management:- Support the implementation of a structured design service, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Maintain a clear record of design projects, revisions, and customer interactions.
- Provide input on workflow improvements and assist in the development of internal design resources.

Required Criteria - A degree or equivalent qualification in Landscape Architecture, Garden Design, Landscape Design, Urban Design, or a related discipline
- Applicants without a formal degree may be considered if they demonstrate a strong portfolio and relevant industry experience
- A strong, varied portfolio showcasing creative and technical design work is essential and will be reviewed at interview
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, and ideally Vectorworks.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, or willingness to learn.
- An understanding of LVIA
- An eye for design, understanding of hard landscaping materials, and a passion for enhancing outdoor spaces
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and customers Organised, proactive, and eager to develop both creative and technical skills
- Full valid UK driving licence Requirement to travel
Desired Criteria - Some industry experience (e.g. placement, internship, freelance, or post-grad work) in landscape design, architecture, or built environment is desirable
- Experience producing design packages for public realm, residential or commercial projects Previous client-facing or site based experience is beneficial but not essential
- Familiarity with UK planning and building regulations related to landscape or public realm design
- Interest in sustainability, SuDS, or accessibility in public space design
- Knowledge of Tobermore product ranges or similar hard landscaping brands
