About the Role:We are looking to strengthen our Ground Engineering team with the addition of a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer. In this role, you will contribute to various stages of Geo-Environmental and Ground Engineering deliverables, supporting our growth across diverse projects, including public infrastructure, life sciences, nuclear, and aviation sectors.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and contribute to technical deliverables within the Geo-Environmental and Ground Engineering team.
- Conduct technical reviews and checks on Geo-Environmental deliverables prepared by Graduate and Engineer grades.
- Represent BakerHicks in external project meetings and during site visits as required.
- Review specialist subcontractor reports for technical compliance with design intent.
- Stay updated with Geo-Environmental design trends, customer awareness, and design techniques.
- Support the development of Geo-Environmental service capabilities across BakerHicks' geographic locations.
About You:Education: - Chartered Membership of an appropriate body (SocEnv, GeolSoc, CIWEM, etc.).
- Degree qualified in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Applied Geology, Geography and Geology, or a related field. An MSc would be advantageous.
Experience: - Experience within a Geo-Environmental/Engineering Consultancy at Engineer/Senior Engineer level.
- Proven track record in preparing technical reports, including:
- Phase 1 Geo-Environmental Desk Top Study Reports with Conceptual Site Models.
- Phase 2 Interpretative reporting, including Tier 1 Risk Assessment for soil and groundwater.
- Classification of sites in line with ground gas risk assessment (BS8485, CIRIA 665).
- Remediation Method Statements.
- Understanding of sampling methods and limitations of investigation techniques.
- Commercial aptitude in managing project budgets and time allowances for report delivery.
- Ability to work within a fully integrated, multi-discipline design team.
- Proven experience in managing junior staff, providing support, training, and mentorship.
