What you'll do The role of a water recycling operator involves the operation and maintenance of conventional sewage treatment plants and pumping stations to meet quality standards.
You will also be involved in running advanced wastewater treatment and sludge process plants. You will play an important role in the team by ensuring compliance with company policy, processes and procedures. You must also ensure the health, safety and welfare of all colleagues, the public and yourself at all times.
Additionally, you will need to be flexible by working hours that include weekends as you will be required to provide emergency cover on the standby rota, with a view to participate in a shift pattern when applicable (average of 38.5 hours per week).
What you'll need You will need GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths and a technical subject as well as:
- experience of working unsupervised in an industrial or process plant is also essential. Electrical or mechanical experience would be desirable
- you will need to be flexible by working hours that include weekends and performing standby duties on a regular basis
- you must be happy working outside in all conditions
- a valid driving licence is essential for this role, ideally with category BE.
Confined spaces training will be provided, however any experience with this would be advantageous.
