Develops, implements and manages environmental health and safety strategic planning and function. Provides expert level knowledge to develop and maintain standards for environmental health and safety.
The EH&S and Workplace Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring all aspects of Health and Safety in accordance with local environment health and safety legislation. In addition, the EH&S and Workplace Manager will support client-side delivery of workplace and facilities management provided via supplier partners.
Purpose
To design, implement, maintain and monitor Health and Safety systems across a diverse international portfolio, working with the various business units to bring improvement and change. To be responsible for strategic guidance to leadership on all Health, Safety and Environmental matters. Reporting to the Global Workplace Experience (GWx) international lead the candidate will be accountable for all in-region Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, providing advice and reporting to the global EH&S team. In addition, this client-side role will support the delivery of workplace and facilities management provided by supplier partners.
Roles & Responsibilities - To support the development of a strong Health and Safety focused culture across Vanguard's international portfolio.
- To have extensive knowledge in UK Health and Safety legislation and best practice globally to assist with compliance and continuous improvement.
- To support the development of measurement systems to ensure that Health and Safety performance is accurately monitored and maintained.
- To liaise with crew on Health and Safety matters as required.
- To identify possible operational risks or opportunities, and work with operational teams to ensure an appropriate and effective response.
- Managing and reviewing the production of risk assessments, method statements and fielding health and safety related queries.
- To support the development of communication strategies to ensure that the Health and Safety plan and relevant information is understood and operated by all crew.
- Working closely with wider global EH&S team on reporting and governance.
- Supporting the workplace operations and outsourced FM team through access to Vanguard systems and tools.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Desired qualifications- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent H&S qualification
- IWFM or equivalent Facilities Management qualification
- 5-year operational experience 3 of which managing Health and Safety across a diverse portfolio.
- Excellent communication skill at all levels.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to work across multiple time-zones.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
