What you'll be doing Balfour Beatty currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager based in Aberdeen for the Netherton Substation Hub.
The role will consist of initially during early works and mobilisation setting up systems and controls for the Netherton Hub in line with our procedures (including HS&W, Environmental, Quality).
As full operations start tasks will involve taking overall accountability for successful project delivery including; planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out.
We are looking for a professional leader to provide management, leadership and inspire a multi-disciplinary team to achieve a common goal, and to determine the most appropriate means of satisfying customer/project requirements, objectives and constraints; time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits
Key Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of energy projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, cost, time, and quality requirements.
- Establish robust project governance, overseeing risk management, procurement, and stakeholder engagement.
- Implement best-in-class health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices to maintain a Zero Harm culture.
- Manage project schedules, contracts, and supply chains to ensure timely and efficient execution.
- Develop and mentor project teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks while maximizing opportunities for efficiency and innovation.
Who we're looking for - Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects.
- Experience in delivering energy projects beneficial
- Strong understanding of contract management and commercial project controls.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to make informed decisions under pressure while balancing commercial and operational constraints.
- Experience in safety management systems and regulatory compliance within the energy sector.
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office 365.
- Relevant degree in Engineering, Construction, or Project Management (BSc/MSc) or equivalent experience.
- APM or PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Full UK driving license.
