Green Sefton require an Assistant Development Officer (Landscape Architect) to join our growing team to help deliver a programme of improvements to parks and green spaces within the borough of Sefton. You will be part of the Green Sefton Team which is the department within Sefton Council responsible for parks, green spaces, watercourses, and coast.

Green Sefton includes teams from Coast & Countryside, Parks & Greenspaces, Flooding & Coastal Erosion Risk Management, and Land Management. We manage and develop the wonderful natural and manmade resources within the borough of Sefton for people and nature.
Sefton's diverse landscapes include woodlands, meadows, wetlands, water courses, parks, informal greenspaces, and an extensive coastline of beaches, sand dunes, and salt marshes. The borough also encompasses internationally important nature and wildlife conservation areas. The natural and built environment of Sefton offer many and varied opportunities for landscape design and management. Projects range across nature conservation, habitat creation, sport and play facilities, urban public spaces, and public infrastructure.
This is a permanent, full-time position. Your main responsibilities will be to support the Principal Development Officer, who is also a Landscape Architect, to instigate and deliver a varied and expanding programme of exiting improvement projects throughout the borough of Sefton. As part of the Development Team, you will be supported to conceive and design projects that will move Sefton onto a more sustainable and nature enhancing footing.
You will contribute landscape and public realm designs as part of multi-disciplinary teams, as well as provide advice to other disciplines and council departments on landscape and urban design matters. You will be expected to help identify, secure, and direct funding opportunities toward and within Green Sefton's portfolio of works. You will enhance existing relationships with our delivery and strategic partners as well as build new ones. As we build our team you may be required to lead and mentor more junior team members.
