You will work under supervision on all aspects of Fife Council, Grounds Maintenance operational activities; this can range from maintenance and development to landscaping and installation of equipment.
You will be working under the direct instruction of a Grounds Maintenance Chargehand, or alone, to develop the skills and knowledge for the chosen trade whilst demonstrating an enthusiasm and willingness to achieve a high degree of competence.

The Person Applicants should have achieved or be expecting to achieve by August 2025:
A minimum 3 National 4s, to include English and Maths, or Standard Grades at general level 3/4, to include English and Maths OR 3 Intermediate 1's, to include Maths and English OR equivalent Core Skills at SCQF level 4.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to achieve SVQ level 2 (SCQF Level 5) in Horticulture. Previous experience can be considered as equivalent see SCQF Framework www.scqf.org.uk.
Applicants will be required to pass a job-related Theory and Practical test prior to interview.
You will have an appreciation of the Grounds Maintenance operational activities and knowledge of tasks undertaken by a Horticultural Gardener. You will have the ability to follow instructions and be able to work outside and deal with the demands of the job.
